New Finance Director At Kingswood Homes

Sara Simpson has been named new finance director of Kingswood Homes, to support the award-winning homebuilder’s ambitious growth plans.
Her role will be to provide forecasts and financial analysis to help deliver Kingswood’s determined expansion, as well as fulfil its financial obligations to sub-contractors, suppliers, and employees.
Sara, who’s originally from Norfolk but has lived in the North West for the last 25 years, is looking forward to the challenge.
“I enjoy working in an OMB environment, and I want to use my experience to support a local independent housebuilder to develop and grow,” she said.
Deepening her understanding of the business, its processes and systems, to ensure they will equip the company fully as it aims to reach its targets is her first challenge – but it’s one for which she is superbly qualified.
After gaining a maths degree from Durham University Sara qualified as a chartered accountant and worked as an auditor for the “Big Four” accounting firms before moving to a major property developer in 2006, and social housing specialists MCI Developments in 2013.
It was while Sara was at MCI that the business underwent huge growth, going from an annual turnover of £7 million to one of more than £56 million.
“I’m proud of what we achieved there,” she added.
Her experience will help support Kingswood as it pursues its growth plans.
The developer, recently named Housebuilder of the Year in the Insider North West Residential Property Awards, delivered 36 homes in the year ended March 2020, increasing to 77 in 2021, to 100-plus in the year ended March 2022 and is targeting 250 homes a year by 2024-25.
Sara, who is hoping to move into her own self-build house this year, encourages anyone to consider a career in the construction industry.
“There are so many diverse roles from buying land, design, engineering and site management, to HR and finance. It’s a fascinating industry that touches everyone’s lives – we all need a home to live in,”
Kingswood Homes, based in Little Hoole, near Preston, is currently building and selling homes at Green Hills in Feniscowles, The Hawthorns in Elswick and The Market Quarter in Hatherleigh, Devon, with plans for a new site in the Lancashire village of Hoddlesden, and more in the pipeline.
Managing director Paul Jones said: “Sara’s expertise and experience will be a valuable asset to Kingswood as we move forward and continue our aims to grow and become a major part of the housebuilding industry in the UK.
“We are delighted to welcome her to the team as we embrace that steady expansion, while continuing to provide customers with the level of service and quality homes they want, need and deserve.”
