Popular after-school and holiday club in Herne Hill joins local group
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Jam Extended School Services’ After-School and Holiday Club in Herne Hill, South East London.
The club was founded in 2006 by Sarah James who wanted to create a place for active minds after a busy and energetic day at school to help children absorb their day of learning. The club operates from a church building in Herne Hill that is conveniently located in the middle of six local schools which they collect children from.
Sarah recently decided to sell to pursue other ventures and, following a confidential process with Christie & Co, the business has been purchased by Neal Chamberlain and John Wardle who own Youngstars – a successful London-based after-school club and holiday camp business.
Sophie Willcox, Director – Childcare & Education at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “I am delighted to have helped Sarah pursue her next venture and for John and Neal to add to their existing business. Jam is the perfect addition to Youngstars as it works so well geographically.
“So far this year, I have completed the sale of large freeholds, profitable leaseholds with long leases, leasehold businesses with informal lease agreements, and now an after-school club, which shows the demand in the market for all types of businesses.”
Jam Extended School Services’ After-School and Holiday Club was sold for an undisclosed price.
