Edenstone shares style secrets inside new homes in Somerset
OFFERING interior inspiration and an insight into what life could be like in an energy efficient new home, a show home is now open at Eden’s Green in Bleadon.
The Edenstone Homes development on Bridge Road features 29 private sale properties, seven of which are available with ‘zero energy bills’ through a partnership with Octopus Energy, guaranteeing no energy bills for five years.
This technology features in the four-bedroom detached Kingsholm show home, which showcases the specification available from Edenstone.
It’s the largest of the three and four-bedroom homes available at the development, offering carefully considered living space, designed with modern family living in mind.
Edenstone sales director Adele McCoy said: “Our new homes in Bleadon are some of the most energy efficient available and offer a rare proposition of ‘zero bills’ for five years. Visitors are often surprised how seamlessly we’ve integrated the technology that makes this possible into our show home. Very little tech is on show – there’s an air source heat pump in the garden and a battery and invertor in the garage.
“Set in a charming village location, the development overlooks fields to the west and is bordered by mature woodlands and leafy hedgerows, with the natural surroundings heavily influencing the interior design of the show home. Burnt orange sofas in the lounge have an autumnal feel, while the dining area and kitchen have a modern country cottage vibe.”
The sales office is currently based in what the floor plan details as a dining room but could easily be used as a study.
On the opposite side of the hallway, is the lounge. It’s furnished with a pair of burnt orange sofas, plus two black framed neutral chairs that provide more than ample seating and emphasise the spaciousness of the room. Two full length mirrors help maximise the natural light.
The open plan kitchen, dining and family room spans the entire width of the rear of the property and is destined to be the heart of the home.
A corner sofa near the bay window provides a relaxing place to sit and watch the world go by at the side of the property or watch your favourite movie.
The wooden dining table has a checkerboard effect with a mix of wood grains. The dining chairs have a woven effect, which alongside the boucle stools at the kitchen island create a tactile seating area with a sense of welcoming and comfort.
Bi-fold doors open onto the garden, making it the perfect space for entertaining.
There’s also a utility room and cloakroom on this level.
Upstairs, there are two en-suite bedrooms, with an expansive principal suite also benefiting a dressing room. The family bathroom serves the remaining two bedrooms.
There’s a fun young child’s room with a bed frame shaped like a house, desk and easel, plus hot air balloon shelving.
An American football themed teen’s room includes a denim jeans effect canopy over the bed.
“Panelling remains a key interior design trend, and we’ve demonstrated different ways this can be used in the show home,” Adele added.
“For example, in the guest bedroom the beading has been painted white against a blue base and helping make a feature of the headboard. The main bedroom features a statement blue panelled wall with a grey headboard in front. We’ve also used a more dramatic panelling effect in the study.”
Prices for the three and four-bedroom homes start at £399,995, with a Kingsholm, like the show home available from £749,995.
The sales office and show home at Eden’s Green are open daily from 10.30am to 5pm. For more information see https://edenstonehomes.com/edens-green-bleadon/
