Aichitect, the first AI-powered platform designed by an architect to revolutionise and streamline construction and development projects, has today announced the successful closing of its pre-seed funding round of £300k, led by SFC Capital.
London-based Aichitect harnesses AI and other technologies, transforming traditional ways of architecture and construction delivery with unparalleled efficiency, prediction, analysis and informed decision-making in minutes, rather than weeks.
With assessed projects so far exceeding £100m, including a 77% saving at Cambridge University Hospital, reducing delivery of an analysis from one month to seven days, Aichitect is already proving how its technology is able to optimise the architecture processes through data, resulting in increased efficiency and maximising return on investment (ROI).
Born out of first hand experience, Aichitect’s co-founder and CEO, Chartered Architect David Adjei, explains: “Anyone involved in the construction industry knows only too well of the number of roadblocks that lead to project costs spiralling, whether it’s due to compliance, changes or disputes – with additional costs currently costing the industry more than $84bn globally.
“Having run my own architecture firm for nine years, I’ve been exploring ways to make the delivery processes easier and less costly for everyone involved, I knew there had to be a solution. Since 2022, I’ve explored the vast number of issues each stakeholder might come up against and, along with my co-founder and CTO Mike De’Shazer, we’re building a better way of doing things in the future for each individual company, freelancer and homeowner. We’re really proud of what we’ve achieved so far.
“We’re thrilled to have received the backing of SFC Capital and look forward to continuing to develop and enhance our offering which ultimately is a solution to de-risk the planning, design, costing and building of all types of construction projects, which in today’s world, where budgets are tighter than ever, we know Aichitect will be a valuable asset to many in the industry.”
Ed Stevenson, Investment Executive of SFC Capital, adds: “We could see David’s pure passion and design-led innovation, as well as his wealth of industry experience, which has led to the launch of Aichitect. From initial design to delivery, spanning major complex commercial construction, as well as smaller domestic developments, Aichitect is set for major growth and expansion on a global scale.
“It really wasn’t a difficult decision to invest in Aichitect and we’re excited to be a part of their journey from the beginning. It really is a game changer for anyone working in all areas of construction and we have no doubt it will attract a lot of interest from within the sector, and beyond.”
With an initial focus on growth in the UK market, Aichitect is already making its mark on the map globally as an approved supplier for two major projects in the Middle East alongside an engaged pipeline of projects, with clients spanning three continents.
A finalist for Digital Team of the year 2024 in the London Construction Awards and shortlisted for Tech Entrepreneur of the Year 2025 in Black Tech Achievement Awards, Aichitect is spear-heading innovation and leading the future for the planning, developing, construction and property sectors.
