Essex-based property investment and development expert, Reece Mennie, has been recognised by the prestigious Great British Entrepreneur Awards after being shortlisted for Established Business of the Year.

Described as the ‘Grammy’s of entrepreneurship’, the Great British Entrepreneur Awards celebrates the innovation, tenacity and achievements of the UK’s top entrepreneurs, all awarded at an impressive nationwide event.

The Allica Bank Award for Established Businesses recognises the exceptional achievements of businesses that have not only weathered the storms of entrepreneurship but thrived, and boast between 5-250 employees together with a turnover of £500k+.

With extensive experience in the property industry, Reece has carved an impressive reputation in sourcing, acquiring and transforming unused commercial buildings into quality and affordable residential developments through his fast-growing business, HJ Collection.

Originally established in 2019, HJ Collection has acquired over 15 sites, established a GDV of £120m by 2025 and returned more than £30m to its growing network of investors since inception, all underpinned by an innovative turnkey business model, whereby the entire acquisition and development process is managed in-house.

Being shortlisted for Established Business of the Year comes at an exciting time for Reece, having recently secured two accolades at The Forty Under 40 Global Awards in recognition of his achievements within the global property sector.

Reece comments: “Being shortlisted for Established Business of the Year by the Great British Entrepreneur Awards is a genuine honour and reflects the dedication of the entire HJ Collection team.

“Over the last 5 – 6 years, not only have we worked hard to deliver high-quality, affordable developments, but we have also been committed to creating real value for our investors, tenants and residents alike. Recognition by the Great British Entrepreneur Awards only strengthens our commitment to building a leading name in the property industry, and I now look forward to celebrating at the awards ceremony this November, with all the other nominees.”

Taking place at Grosvenor House Hotel, London on 17th November 2025, the Great British Entrepreneur Awards will celebrate over 800 finalists from 10 different regions across 18 awards categories.

Based in his homeland of Essex, Reece Mennie is also the Founder and CEO of Hunter Jones Group, a property investment specialist for UK and overseas markets.

In addition, Reece is also an investor and director of Loughton based Boxing Academy, Dennis & Dyer, which is fast becoming a go-to fitness establishment in the Essex area, and supports young and aspiring entrepreneurs with their own business ideas through dedicated mentoring sessions.
