Tipi reveals details of knock-out new gym at Wembley Park
The autumn and winter months can have a direct impact on many people’s enthusiasm for keeping fit. Everything from going for a quick run to heading out to the gym can seem a lot less appealing when it’s pouring with rain. Thankfully, in London’s Wembley Park, residents of the new Ferrum building from lifestyle-led rental homes brand Tipi, won’t need to brave the elements in order to keep fit in serious style.
Ferrum’s gym is one of the building’s most exciting features. This is no ordinary workout space. The raw, honest design reflects the distinctive, warehouse-style vibe of Ferrum’s apartments, which feature exposed copper pipework and brick, alongside leather John Lewis & Partners sofas and smooth wooden worktops. The gym takes that ambience to the next level, delivering a space that is both functional and inspiring.
“Ferrum’s gym is a really stand-out social space – a great deal of thought has gone into the design. It’s flooded with natural light, with superb views north towards Wembley Stadium* and south across our beautiful, landscaped gardens. For an additional injection of energy, leading Japanese street artist Suiko has lent his talents to one of the walls and produced an eclectic, bold piece of artwork. We are going further in terms of social spaces with each Tipi building that we bring to Wembley Park and Ferrum is hands down our most exciting building to date.”

The UK as a whole is making fitness a priority. The 2019 State of the UK Fitness Industry Report revealed that we are spending more on fitness than ever before. There are more gyms, with more members, while the industry’s total market value now exceeds £5 billion.
In the residential accommodation sector, an on-site gym has become a must-have for many renters. Tipi takes that fact and elevates it to the next level at Ferrum. The gym has been carefully designed around resident demographics and preferences in order to focus it fully on the needs of those living in Ferrum.
The gym features the latest cardio kit, plus boxing bags, a tyre flip, a tread wall and free weights. The equipment has been planned with versatility in mind, so that hanging equipment can be moved and swapped out based on residents’ preferences and the classes being held. The boxing bags, for example, can be changed for Olympic ring-style straps. This opens the door to a range of high-intensity classes using different equipment, as well as the option for residents to enjoy some one-to-one time with personal trainers should they wish to do so.
This versatility extends to Ferrum’s other social spaces. The rooftop garden and podium gardens will be used to host a range of classes and experience-led fitness events. Yoga takes on a whole new aspect when it’s performed on a rooftop at sunset with 360° views stretching all the way from the City to Surrey!
“We’ve hosted rooftop yoga and Pilates sessions in other Tipi buildings, some of them combined with wellness breakfasts and the chance for residents to socialise with their neighbours. We’ve found these sessions to be hugely popular and so we will be drawing on that experience at Ferrum while creating some distinctly different experiences for those taking part.”

Ferrum has a range of other social spaces for residents to also enjoy. The gardens feature BBQs, seating areas and lawn games, while indoors there’s a huge resident lounge, multiple home-working spaces, a library and a working from home ‘laptop bar’ overlooking the impressive atrium. The attention to detail in these social spaces is superb and points to Tipi’s focus on wellness rather than just fitness as part of Ferrum’s offering.
Wembley Park itself is the ideal place to keep fit and healthy. It’s home to a running club and regular parkour sessions at The Yellow – a community hub that also offers affordable fitness classes, multi-sport sessions, dance sessions and other exercise classes ranging from yoga to kick boxercise. The presence of Wembley Stadium also serves as superb sporting inspiration, while those in need of sportswear can find everything that they need at London Designer Outlet.
Living at Wembley Park couldn’t be easier. Apartments at Ferrum range in price from £1,595 pcm for a studio to £3,350 for a three-bedroom home. All include utilities and 40 mb/s broadband. Every apartment also has a private balcony or terrace for residents’ exclusive use.
