COMMUNITY projects in West Cheshire have the chance to share a new £10,000 fund launched by Redrow.

The homebuilder is now accepting applications to its new West Cheshire Community Fund, linked to The Pastures, in Backford Cross, and the nearby Ledsham Garden Village development.

The latest round of funding brings Redrow’s voluntary support for the neighbourhoods in which its North West business builds to more than £140,000 since 2016. This funding is in addition to statutory investment from Redrow linked to planning consents.

Anna Evans-Kerr, head of sales for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “Through our community funds we’ve been able to get right to the heart of the neighbourhoods where we’re building, helping to celebrate why those areas are great places to live. We’ve previously gifted more than £35,000 to projects local to our new homes in Huntington, Chester, and at Ledsham Garden Village, via similar community funds. We’ve also just distributed £10,000 to good causes near King’s Moat Garden Village, in Chester.

“Community has become more important than ever before in recent months and there have been lots of heart-warming stories about people coming together to support one another. We’re also aware of the extra pressures charities and community groups have faced this year because of Covid.

“We very much want to hear from good causes in the West Cheshire area, near to our Backford Cross and Ledsham Garden Village developments, to find out how we can help them make a difference locally by sharing £10,000 amongst as many applicants as possible.”

Previous Redrow funding across Cheshire has helped schools, charities, youth groups, sports teams and individuals at the heart of the community, providing a range of resources including play equipment, defibrillators, furniture, food parcels, counselling and more.

The West Cheshire Fund is linked to The Pastures, Backford Cross, and Ledsham Garden Village.

Two brand new show homes have just launched at The Pastures, a 100-home development that will also see almost £250,000 invested in local education, healthcare amenities and towards sports pitches in the area.

Ledsham Garden Village is a much larger scheme of circa 2,000 homes set amid 100 acres of open space, with Redrow having committed to investing £13 million to support the growth of the neighbourhood. Seven fully furnished show homes are already open and an eighth will open next month at Hawthorn Court.
