Homebuilder Extends Help for Heroes
KEY workers across South Wales and the South West of England could save thousands of pounds off the price of a brand new home thanks to the Edenstone Group.
Almost half of the homebuilder’s purchasers in the six months to November were those in essential roles who used the company’s 5% key worker discount to buy a new home for less. The offer was due to finish at the end of 2020, but in light of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the Edenstone Group is extending the scheme, during the new lockdown period.
It’s available across the Group’s two housing brands – Edenstone Homes and Bluebell Homes – at developments including St Mary’s Garden Village in Ross on Wye, River View Garden Village in Lydney and Parc Ceirw Garden Village in Morriston.
Sales director Adele McCoy explained: “Like the rest of the nation we want to thank key workers for all of their hard work. Clap for carers has become clap for heroes, but simply applauding them doesn’t seem to be enough. While the majority of people have been able to spend more time at home, they’ve been under immense pressure to deliver essential services. We’re acknowledging that by offering a 5% discount off the price of a brand new home. Based on those who’ve already used the scheme, they have the potential to save an average £14,000.”
Sectors eligible for the scheme include health and social care; education and childcare; key public services; local and national government; food and other necessary goods; public safety and national security; transport; utilities, communication and financial services
Key workers buying a new home from the Edenstone Group can opt to receive a 5% discount off the price of the property or to combine a smaller discount with upgrades to their new home, such as flooring or landscaped gardens.
“The very nature of buying a brand new home should appeal to those leading busy lives, like key workers, who don’t have time to worry about arranging repairs or renovations,” Adele added.
“Instead they can look forward to enjoying life in their brand new home from the day that they complete the purchase.”
St Mary’s Garden Village is a 290-home development, that will eventually include a host of facilities including a community building with equipped indoor gym, community hall and kitchen. Residents will be able to enjoy an abundance of open space including play areas and a meadow; walking trail with outdoor exercise equipment; a kick about area; cycle hire facilities; allotments with raised beds.
Current prices start from £229,995 for a two-bedroom semi-detached Eastbourne style bungalow.
River View Garden Village in Lydney will eventually feature 177 new homes, including three and four-bedroom two-storey houses, with a range of buying options available. The development features community facilities including a play area, cycle hire and allotments. Current prices at River View start from £249,995 for a three-bedroom Alveston.
At Parc Ceirw Garden Village, circa 300 homes are being built, with the new neighbourhood also set to offer a new community park with equipped children’s play area, kick-about area for playing sports, a dedicated dog walking area and a circular fitness trail. There will also be a new community hub, featuring a studio and gym, plus there will be cycle hire facilities for residents’ use.
Between Bluebell Homes and Edenstone Homes, Parc Ceirw Garden Village offers a wide selection of properties including bungalows and two-storey homes, with prices from £184,995.
The key worker discount is available on selected properties only, subject to terms and conditions.
