The Elan show home garden at Millfields, Middleton. Access to outside space has become increasingly important to buyers.

MANCHESTER buyers wanting more space inside and out could find their ideal home by expanding their search to 30 minutes’ journey out of the city centre.

According to figures from home.co.uk, the average asking price for an apartment in Manchester is £223,413, while the average price of a three-bedroom home is more than £300,000 and properties with four-bedrooms command prices of around £410,000.

In comparison, new homes at Millfields in Middleton are competitively priced. The Elan Homes development offers a choice of two, three and four-bedroom properties, with current prices ranging from £194,995 to £299,995.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, said: “Over the course of the last year there’s been a real shift in priorities when people are looking for a home. Living close to the city centre has dropped down buyers’ wish lists in favour of having more space inside and out. Middleton is only around seven miles or 30 minutes from Manchester but it’s a great alternative and competitively priced.

“Buyers who expand their search to Middleton could find that their money goes further and that they’re able to purchase a larger home than if they focused on living in Manchester. In fact, they could find they’re able to buy a four-bedroom home at Millfields for less than the average price of a three-bedroom property in Manchester.”

The four-bedroom semi-detached Ashley at Millfields is an attractive townhouse offering three floors of carefully considered living space.

On the ground floor, the well equipped, stylish kitchen is at the front, with an open plan living and dining room at the rear with French doors leading out to the garden. There’s also a handy cloakroom on this level.

Two bedrooms, one with en-suite, plus the family bathroom are on the first floor. The remaining two bedrooms are on the top floor, along with a shower room.

Millfields enjoys a location that enables residents to make the most of the outdoors, with homes at the southern end of the site looking out towards mature trees and the River Irk. As part of its commitment to the local area, Elan has agreed to contribute towards improvements of recreational open space in Alkrington Woods and Rhodes Lodges Site of Biological Importance.
