Three Tudor Montessori Nurseries in West Sussex sold through Christie & Co
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of three Tudor Montessori Nursery settings in West Sussex.
These three attractive nursery settings are the combination of leasehold and freehold titles with a combined effective operating capacity for 158 children and an impressive combined annual fee income of circa £2 million. All nurseries are located in and around the popular West Sussex town of Burgess Hill.
The owners of the now-three setting Tudor Montessori Nursery Group, Mr Roy and Mrs Carole Anne Benson, decided to sell part of their portfolio in order to downsize their business commitments and to concentrate on their Snowdrop House group in Hayward’s Heath.
Mrs Benson comments, “We started the group in 1996 and, through hard work and total commitment, created the well-respected Tudor House group of six nurseries.”
The nurseries have been purchased by Mr Ray Phoon who, along with his wife Rikke, owns Saurus Nurseries, a group of nine premium quality settings based across East and West Sussex. Mr Phoon comments, “Saurus started in 2006 and has grown to nine nurseries, with this acquisition making it 12 nurseries. We have an existing Saurus nursery in Burgess Hill which is fully subscribed. Tudor Montessori Group is a fantastic group of nurseries and will complement ours with staffing and occupancies. We intend to continue growing the Saurus Group with new acquisitions.”
Nick Brown, Head of Brokerage at Christie & Co, who handled the sale alongside Director, Sophie Willcox, comments, “We were invited by the owners Roy and Carole Anne to provide expert advice on the best way to achieve the part sale of their total group of six settings. They wanted to reduce their workload and concentrate on their three remaining nurseries The Snowdrop House group comprising of Snowdrop, Primrose House, and Lindfield Hickory Montessori.
“Add to this an asset sale with a split exchange and completion and a reregistration process via Ofsted and this was not going to be a standard process. Working alongside Sophie, we were able to navigate past all the above, generating super interest which culminated in finding the ideal purchaser for this group who had the funds and experience to conclude a deal of this size. It has been a pleasure working with both Roy and Carole and we wish them all the best in concentrating on their remaining settings and in having more time for themselves.”
The three Tudor Montessori Nursery settings were sold at undisclosed prices.
