Surrey care home operator expands into Dorset with recent purchase
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has completed the sale of Mile Oak care home in Wimborne, Dorset.
Mile Oak is a care home for the elderly registered for 20 people and comprising 20 single en suite bedrooms, a large sitting and dining room, and secure landscaped gardens. The home has a full-time manager and a dedicated complement of both full and part time staff. The latest CQC report rated the home as ‘Good’ in four Key Lines of Enquires, and ‘Outstanding’ in the Caring category.
The home has been owned by Rod and Helen Pettifer since 2014 who, after owning and operating eight care homes and other businesses, felt now was a good time to reduce their portfolio and pass Mile Oak onto another owner.
Following a confidential sales process with Charles Phillips at Christie & Co, it has been purchased by Sasi Rasa, an existing care home operator from Surrey.
Rod Pettifer, former owner of Mile Oak, comments, “Mile Oak is a lovely home with a wonderful atmosphere, great staff and very special residents. We have enjoyed owning and operating this home and wish the new buyers continued success.”
Sasi Rasa, the new owner of Mile Oak, comments, “Having purchased one care home through Charles at Christie & Co a few years ago, I was delighted when he called me about Mile Oak. The home has great synergies with my other business, and I believe this will be an excellent addition for me. The home presents very well and I look forward to working with and getting to know all the staff, residents and their families, and making sure we continue to provide an excellent level of care.”
Charles Phillips, Director – Healthcare at Christie & Co, comments, “Having sold the home to Rod and Helen a decade ago, it was a pleasure to help them with this sale, which we kept confidential throughout the process. Sasi is an ideal owner for this business, and I am sure he will be extremely successful. There is great demand for similar care homes in the area from buyers keen to either enter the sector or add to their current portfolios.”
Mile Oak was sold for an undisclosed price.
