MP Mark Garnier OBE joined local construction teams to cut the sod as builders began construction work at a brand-new housing development in Stourport.

The Wyre Forest MP joined Barratt Homes West Midlands’ Managing Director, Adrian Evans, to officially mark the beginning of the 211-home development on Pearl Lane.  The development of two, three and four bedroom properties, named The Pearls, will underpin approximately 422 jobs for local people during its time and will bring significant investment to the area.

Set in the sought-after town of Stourport, The Pearls is less than two miles away from Stourport itself, as the brand-new community opens the door to a wide range of essential and entertainment amenities, as well as convenient travel to Kidderminster and Worcester.

Mark Garnier OBE MP said: “It was a pleasure to visit this new housing development in Stourport, set in such a scenic part of Wyre Forest.

“I am particularly pleased that the next generation of families in The Pearls will benefit from a mix of two, three and four bedroom high-quality and energy efficient homes.

“I look forward to seeing the end result and families making the most of the Playland Fun Park, Treasure Island and of course, the canal-side walking routes.”

Set to launch in late spring 2025, The Pearls gives prospective home buyers the opportunity to reap the benefits of Stourport’s beautiful canal landscapes and highly-rated schooling options.

Adrian Evans said: “We were thrilled to be joined by Mark to celebrate the start of construction at our Stourport development, The Pearls.

“This is an exciting development, and we are looking forward to seeing it take shape ahead of its launch.”
