In honour of National Curry Week, which runs from 7-13 October 2019, lifestyle-led rental homes brand Tipi has arranged the ultimate culinary experience for its residents – a supper club with Michelin starred Chef Rohit Ghai.

Ghai will be joined by fellow chef Abhishake Sangwan, with whom he runs Boxpark Wembley’s Koolcha, where the duo serves ‘kulcha’ flatbreads stuffed with unique Indian flavours and complemented by iced fruit teas, cocktails and Indian beers.

Today, Saturday 12 October, the two inspirational chefs will share their secrets – and their cuisine – with Tipi residents as part of an exclusive dining experience. The event follows the huge success of Tipi supper clubs hosted by MasterChef 2018 finalist Nawamin Pinpathomrat and Billy and Jack, two of MasterChef 2016’s three finalists.

“Our residents have told us repeatedly how much they have enjoyed the supper clubs that we’ve held so far, so we wanted to ensure that the next one was even more special. We are delighted that the Koolcha team will be hosting this exciting event, allowing Tipi residents to enjoy Michelin star cooking in a truly personal way.”

The supper club will take place in Alto, Tipi’s award-winning collection of chic, modern apartments to rent. Floor to ceiling windows flood the homes with light, with residents able to choose between balconies and terraces that overlook the Italian-inspired courtyard garden. Alto features a gym, roof terrace, resident kitchen and lounge. The latter will host the supper club’s pre-dinner drinks, with residents moving into the spacious kitchen as they sit down to dine.

Rohit Ghai’s experience includes a decade on the London culinary scene. He is at the forefront of contemporary Indian dining, having opened his first solo restaurant, Kutir, in 2018. He runs it with Abhishake Sangwan, who has worked alongside Ghai in some of London’s most exciting Indian restaurants, including Gymkhana, Hoppers, Bombay Bustle and Jamavar (the latter won its Michelin star under Ghai’s guidance as head chef).

The duo opened Koolcha at Wembley Park’s Boxpark in early 2019, following their opening of Kutir in November 2018. Koolcha’s focus is all about comfort food, with the exquisite filled kulcha accompanied by homemade pickles, dal, raitas, and chutneys. Now, they will bring their highly prized cuisine to the tables of Tipi residents in order to celebrate National Curry Week, which has been held in the UK every year since 1998.

Boxpark is one of many superb experiential locations open to Tipi’s gourmands. It is home to 20 street food vendors and three bars, offering up gastronomic treats from around the globe. Wembley Park is also home to Bread Ahead, where locals can indulge their love of baking in the restaurant’s glass-fronted baking school, learning to make artisanal breads and doughs under the watchful eye of the Bread Ahead’s diners. Then, of course, there are Tipi’s own culinary events.

“As community life is so integral to Tipi’s lifestyle offering, we have done much to ensure that food plays a key role in living here. From huge resident kitchens and dining rooms to a range of food-based events, we provide residents with the chance to break bread together (both literally and metaphorically speaking) as part of our busy social calendar.”

Living at Wembley Park couldn’t be easier. Apartments at the newest building, Ferrum, range in price from £1595 pcm for a studio to £3350 for a three-bedroom home. All include utilities and 40 mb/s broadband. Each of the old New York warehouse, loft-style apartments has a private balcony or terrace, while Ferrum also includes an outstanding range of on-site amenities, from its training gym with boxing bags, tyre flip, climbing wall to its huge resident lounge and its gardens featuring BBQs, lawn games and a dog run for residents’ furry friends.
