Tax Break Extension For New Home Buyers in Staffordshire

A STAMP Duty-free move could still be on the cards for home buyers in Staffordshire thanks to Elan Homes.

With many re-evaluating their housing needs in response to the pandemic, the homebuilder has seen an increase in demand across its developments, including Brook Meadow in Loggerheads.

In some cases movers have been spurred on by the tax-saving introduced to kick-start the housing market and with that scheme due to come to an end in spring, Elan is offering buyers a lifeline that could save them thousands.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, said: “More than 50,000 people have signed a petition calling for the Stamp Duty holiday to be extended and while officially the tax relief won’t continue beyond March, at Elan we’re offering to help bridge that gap. We will contribute to the cost of Stamp Duty on selected new homes, up to a maximum of £6,000 for completions from April 1 through to June 1. It could make a significant difference to buyers’ budgets, helping them move to a home they’ll love inside out.”
