‘Outstanding’ Oxfordshire care home sold to new operator
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has completed the freehold sale of Cleeve Lodge residential home in Goring-on-Thames, South Oxfordshire.
Cleeve Lodge, which is rated by the Care Quality Commission as ‘Outstanding’, is registered for 23 service users and occupies a 22-bedroom property in excellent condition with lovely gardens to the side which provide a peaceful space for residents and families. The home is located in a highly sought-after, popular location within the village of Goring-on-Thames, close to the river Thames.
The business has been owned by its previous owner, Vanessa, since 2015 who recently decided to sell to retire from the sector. Following a confidential sales process with Charles Phillips at Christie & Co, and with funding sourced through Christie Finance, it has been purchased by a new operator which plans to run the business alongside its current full-time manager and dedicated team of staff.
Vanessa, previous owner of Cleeve Lodge, comments, “We are sad to be leaving Cleeve Lodge as we have many happy memories of our time looking after the residents and staff. We are pleased to be handing over a lovely home and hope the new owners will be successful in their new venture. They have purchased a great business with really committed staff who put the residents at the centre of everything.”
Charles Phillips, Director – Healthcare at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, adds, “The level of interest expressed in this property proves there is great demand for care homes of this size and quality in the area. A number of offers were made, and we were very pleased to have been able to sell the home for Vanessa and to be able to help the buyer start their journey within the care sector. We wish them all the very best.”
Cleeve Lodge was sold for an undisclosed price.
